LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lasers were first called Masers, which stood for Microwave Amplification Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Before lasers were measured in watts, they were measured in Gillette power. Gillette power was the amount of energy necessary to cut half way through a double edge Gillete razor blade. All lasers are measured in watts, just like light bulbs. All lasers are monochromatic. This means they have one specific wavelength of light, known as a nanometer (nm). All lasers have coherency. All lasers lack divergence. All lasers are regulated by the FDA. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is based on the Arndt-Schultz Law of Biology. The Arndt-Schultz Law states, weak stimuli promotes healing..., stronger stimuli inhibits healing..., and very strong stimuli destroy tissue.... |
